Time to Take the Christmas Tree Down....

Kira worked and worked to get a little apple off the tree today. Here is a picture of her trying to get it into her mouth.

New Toothbrush

Kira practiced good dental hygiene all day today with her new toothbrush.

Snow Bunny

Kira got her first taste of snow (literally) out in Uncle Eric's yard yesterday. I set her on Ty's sled for a quick picture not intending to do any kind of real sledding and two seconds into it, she was trying to make a face-down snow angel with bare hands in the icy snow! Oopsy.

Old Friends

We drove out to the Wollan farm today and spent some time eating goodies and reminiscing.

Papa's Bib

Kira tried out her new bib today....just one of the many cute bibs that Papa has cross-stitched for her.

Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer

In a corner of Nana and Papa's living room, Kira discovered a stuffed reindeer that plays the song, "Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer" and unfortunately for everyone in the house, plays it CONSTANTLY!

Christmas Day

The Morgans ate, drank, and made merry out at the Gillunds in Sunburst today. We played with cousins Grant and Elle and watched the DVDs that Auntie Barbie had made of all the family home movies. Kira and Elle had matching twin outfits and Colleen, Barbie, and I were goodie triplets.

Christmas Morning

So many presents, so little time! But the best part was the PAPER and BOWS!!! Daddy even tried to squeeze me into my stocking again last night because he still thinks I'm little!

Christmas Eve

Kira spent Christmas Eve at Nana's house with her cousins and even had a special visit from Santa (although she wasn't too happy to sit on Santa's lap for her present!)

Candy Cane Lane

Kira is busy at Nana and Papa's with a candy cane in one hand and trying to get into trouble with the other hand!

My Visit with Santa

I wore my Santa outfit today and went to visit the big man himself. He swears he put me on the "nice list."

Party Girl

Kira is currently running the Christmas party circuit, attending 2 parties in 2 days. Today we were all at Gramma and Grampa Thompson's house with Great-Grampa Keefe and 40-plus relatives on Gramma's side of the family. Kira helped Great-Grampa open his presents and kept trying to stick a silver bow on her head!

Santa Claus is Walkin' to Town

Santa's little helper is now walking quite a bit...with a little motivation from something sparkly or electronic, she'll walk all the way across the room! Tonight it was the pink rhinestone pin on my sweater that allowed us to get some excellent video footage before heading off to a Christmas party.

Naughty or Nice?

Will Santa be visiting Kira this year? We always get one "naughty" picture at her photo shoots...this time she's sticking out her tongue. At least she wasn't crying!

Kira's Stocking

Last year before Kira was born, Jeff bought a stocking "just in case" she arrived before Christmas even though she wasn't due until January 6th. As it turned out, our little peanut was indeed able to use the stocking and fit quite nicely inside! Now just a year later she's standing below the fireplace staring up at her stocking and dreaming of all the toys Santa is going to bring (And also trying to figure out how she can grab it and rip it down. It's a dilemma.)

Wipes

This is what happens when a 1 yr-old is left alone with a box of wipes for 5 minutes! I had started making a batch of caramels with Nana when little missy decided to inaugurate the box of wipes I had just restocked.

Nana & Papa

Kira has been hosting Nana and Papa for the past 2 weeks. She was excited they had to stay extra days due to the flooding so she could have more time to try and grab the glasses off their faces!

It's My Party (Take Two...)

Kira celebrated her birthday again today with a family dinner. She received many gifts fit for a princess, including a silver cup engraved with her initials from her cousins and lots of books (Kira loves her books!) The cake was still too sweet, but she thought the candle was beautiful, and after heading off to bed, had to come back downstairs to see why everyone was still partying without her!

Party Number One

Kira had a few friends over today to help celebrate her first birthday. She wore her pink tutu along with her pink Converse Chuck Taylors and thought her cake was too sweet as she made ick faces with each taste!

But What I Really Wanna Do Is......

"I love my presents, but I really just wanna dig in the kitchen drawers!"

Kira received some early birthday presents including a fuzzy pink teddy bear backpack from her cousins Ty, Drew, and Cade along with a Laugh and Learn Home from Nana & Papa. But very soon after the novelty of the new toy wore off, she was back to digging in the kitchen drawers, playing with trivets and pancake turners.

Old Friends

Mommy's childhood BFF came over to visit today so Kira had 3 playmates for the afternoon.

Cruising

Our little walker is cruising around the house with her wheely toy, bumping into the occasional wall like an old man, but she has a lot of helpers standing by to straighten out her wheels!
